7. When a bhikkhu is building a large dwelling -- having a
sponsor and destined for himself -- he is to assemble bhikkhus to
designate the site. The site the bhikkhus designate should be without
disturbances and with adequate space. If the bhikkhu should build a
large dwelling on a site with disturbances and without adequate space,
or if he should not assemble the bhikkhus to designate the site, it
entails initial and subsequent meetings of the Community.

6. Dhanuggahasuttaṃ
228. Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati…pe… ‘‘seyyathāpi, bhikkhave, cattāro daḷhadhammā dhanuggahā susikkhitā katahatthā katūpāsanā catuddisā ṭhitā assu. Atha puriso āgaccheyya – ‘ahaṃ imesaṃ catunnaṃ daḷhadhammānaṃ dhanuggahānaṃ susikkhitānaṃ katahatthānaṃ katūpāsanānaṃ catuddisā kaṇḍe khitte appatiṭṭhite pathaviyaṃ gahetvā āharissāmī’ti. Taṃ kiṃ maññatha, bhikkhave, ‘javano puriso paramena javena samannāgato’ti alaṃ vacanāyā’’ti?
‘‘Ekassa cepi, bhante, daḷhadhammassa dhanuggahassa susikkhitassa katahatthassa katūpāsanassa kaṇḍaṃ khittaṃ appatiṭṭhitaṃ pathaviyaṃ gahetvā āhareyya – ‘javano puriso paramena javena samannāgato’ti alaṃ vacanāya, ko pana vādo catunnaṃ daḷhadhammānaṃ dhanuggahānaṃ susikkhitānaṃ katahatthānaṃ katūpāsanāna’’nti?
‘‘Yathā ca, bhikkhave, tassa purisassa javo, yathā ca candimasūriyānaṃ javo, tato sīghataro. Yathā ca, bhikkhave, tassa purisassa javo yathā ca candimasūriyānaṃ javo yathā ca yā devatā candimasūriyānaṃ purato dhāvanti tāsaṃ devatānaṃ javo, ( ) [(tato sīghataro. yathā ca bhikkhave tassa purisassa javo, yathā ca candimasuriyānaṃ javo, yathā ca yā devatā candimasuriyānaṃ purato dhāvanti, tāsaṃ devatānaṃ javo,) (sī. syā. kaṃ.)] tato sīghataraṃ āyusaṅkhārā khiyanti. "Monks, suppose there were four strong archers — well-trained, practiced, & drilled — standing in the four directions, and a man were to come along saying, 'I will catch & bring down the arrows let fly by these four strong archers — well-trained, practiced, & drilled — before they have fallen to the ground.' What do you think? Would that be enough to call him a swift man, endowed with the foremost speed?"

"Even if he were to catch & bring down the arrows let fly by one archer — well-trained, practiced, & drilled — before they fell to the ground, lord, that would be enough to call him a swift man, endowed with the foremost speed, to say nothing of four such archers."

"Faster than the speed of that man, monks, is the speed of the sun & moon. Faster than the speed of that man, faster than the speed of the sun & moon, is the speed of the devas who rush ahead of the sun & moon. Faster than the speed of that man, faster than the speed of the sun & moon, faster than the speed of the devas who rush ahead of the sun & moon, the force of one's life span comes to an end. Thus you should train yourselves: 'We will live heedfully.' That's how you should train yourselves."
